Standardized Tests in detail
▶ PSAT Prep Typically taken in Grades 10 and 11, the PSAT/NMSQT can qualify you for the National Merit Scholarship Program and other scholarships. At Premier Academy Walnut, we help students prepare for the PSAT, not only for the opportunity to earn scholarships but also to equip them for the SAT. Competency in the PSAT will provide a better head start for the “optional” SAT Test in the future, allowing students to learn and develop Math and English concepts. This is especially important as there are overlapping concepts with the Common Core curriculum.

▶ AP Exam PrepAdvanced Placement (AP) courses allow students to earn college credit during high school which also serves as a college application booster during app season in students’ senior year (Grade 12). Given that AP classes are more dense than regular courses, students typically seek help early on or before tests. Get ahead now with our tutors who have received “5's” for the AP courses you are taking now or seek to prepare for.
AP Exams typically begin early May which our tutors start to prepare with their students at least a few months in advance depending on current level of understanding.

▶ SSAT / ISEE PrepWhile the SSAT, or Secondary School Admissions Test, and the ISEE, or Independent School Entrance Examination, are standardized examinations used by admissions professionals at private elementary, middle, and high schools. They share a common purpose, but there are some key differences between the two.

Our Policy
Policy goal: To provide the best experience for our students & teachers by minimizing administrative tasks
- On Payment: Due prior to the first class; $10 late fee and promotions will be removed if paid after.
- On Cancellation Policy: We require 24-hour advance verbal or text message notification for a change, cancellation, or discontinuation of a lesson and/or future lessons, or else the service will still be billed as taken. No refund or make-up on no-shows and same-day cancellations for private tutoring.
- On Class End: Students must be picked up within 15 minutes after the session. Full hourly rates will be billed if students are picked up after 15 minutes.
- On Last Class: Weekly schedules are set indefinitely to reserve your time slot. Please inform us regarding your last lesson.
- On Holidays: There will be no sessions scheduled on Holidays unless specially arranged and confirmed with the Front Office.
